Private Reuben Fields

Born: approx. 1772, Culpepper County, Virginia.

The family moved to Kentucky in 1783.

Recruited for the expedition along with his brother Joseph Field by William Clark at the
Falls of the Ohio, Kentucky.

Private Reuben Field was disciplined at Fort Dubois for disobeying an order from Sergeant
Ordway.

Reuben and Joseph Field's older brother Ezekial had a saltmaking business in Bullitt
County Kentucky where he employed some of his brothers, possibly including Reuben and
Joseph.
